2020 CHEVROLET EQUINOX: LEMONABILITY RATING

What is Lemonability?

“Lemonability is a rating we assign to each car, based on the eligibility for compensation via the lemon law.  The more car problems reported by owners over time, the higher the rating.”

The 2020 Chevrolet Equinox was arguably one of the best SUV hits during its reign. The automakers claim that this vehicle is ‘ready when you are.’ Is that catchphrase true? Can you really depend on the car? Well, drivers claim otherwise because of the issues that plague the vehicle.

FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM

Having a sound fuel system gives you undeniable peace of mind with your vehicle, but it seems as though you can’t get this feeling with the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox. Drivers constantly lament about the vehicle’s poor acceleration. SUVs should be solid and fast when needed but so is not the case for the 2020 Equinox model.

After a recall, they claimed that the fuel tank seam is not sealed correctly, and there is a high tendency of fuel leakage. If it is the case, then the acceleration would be the least worries because there is a high probability of a fire.

BRAKE PROBLEM

It seems to accelerate is not the only issue with the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox; the braking system is also faulty. Drivers claim that the vehicle shakes excessively with the traction control warning and check engine warning light illuminating when they press the brakes sometimes.

With persistent problems, the automakers had no other options but to issue a recall. They claim that the rear brake calipers have the wrong lubrication, overheating the brake pads. 

ENGINE PROBLEMS

With very trivial engine problems, it seems the 2020 Chevrolet Equinox is anything, but definitely not ready when you are. After complaints of unresponsive engine, the manufacturers had to look into the issue. It turns out that the exhaust cam reluctor was out of position. They stated that owners should expect the engine not to start or extended crank situation sometimes.
